Minutes of the Board of Directors Meeting First Meeting of the Palo Verde Homeowners Association, Brownsville, Texas, held at the Brownsville, in the clubhouse 100 E Maple St. at 7:06 p.m. on the Tuesday of May 16, 2023
I. Call To Order
Board Member Hector Guerra called the meeting to order at 7:06 p.m.
II. Roll Call of Officers
Roll call of officers at 7:07 p.m.
Present: Héctor Guerra, Mike Smith, Gonzalo Treviño, Sergio Fragoso, Lourdes Salinas, Rocio Casillas
Also Present:
- Rafael Garcia, accountant;
- Oscar Garza, facility manager;
- Jose Butron, Lorena Gimenez, Vicki Bunderson, Irma Guera
III. Approval of the minutes of the regular meeting
Motion of Héctor Guerra, seconded by Rocio Casillas, to approve the minutes of Tuesday of April,2023, motion carried at 7:08 p.m.
IV. Financial Report
Accountant Rafael Garcia was present to discuss the report concerning contacting the lawyer McCullough, the accountant will send an email to his assistants cc. Sergio Fragoso and Hector Guerra, to keep on working on the people who owe money
Mr. Smith will keep on working with Frank Wood for the HOA certification for incorporation.
Rafael gave Luli Salinas the treasure to sign for the taxes to be paid for this year.
HOA is paying income tax for the club house rental.
V. Managers Report
Oscar Garza
- Oscar Garza, express about the main gate of the Clubhouse is slowly pulling away.
- There is a light that is not turning on the tennis court. He will move the light that is affecting one of the neighbor’s house.
- In the tennis court there is a need to buy new windbreaker screen.
- Oscar brought up the concern of the holes in the street once you get to the clubhouse.
- There is termite in the poles and Hector said that the whole clubhouse should have the same problem.
VI. Unfinished Business
- Luli Salinas: Insurance, Leticia from State Farm needs a report from the last insurance.
- Hector and Luli will try to go and see Mr. Alford at his office in order to get the report.
- Hector Guerra, will keep on looking for the security cameras but still doesn’t want to make the decision because it has to be decided what is going to happen with the clubhouse, whether to remodel, or update.
- Hector said to put a announcement that there is an emergency phone in the pool and put it in the chat.
- Jesus de la Garza Will go to time warner to check service that they are providing for the internet, phone, etc.. in the clubhouse.
VII. New Business
- The roof on the Jaross property is being done, where is protecting the pump that feeds the resacas.
- Hector asked Mr. Smith to see if it could be making an approach about the trailer house that is on Tupelo, will ask the lawyer to see what could be done.
- Hector Guerra makes the motion that any recreational vehicle or mobile homes, boats, or trailers must be parked after the 25ft building set back behind a fence.
- Sergio Fragoso Seconds the motion.
- Luli Salinas will order the signs to be put in the Resacas by Mr. Smith and Hector
- Rocio Casillas will try to find a lawyer for the advice on the trailer home.
